What we posted this week hit a nerve. People across the country are furious that Democrats are celebrating losing. And they’re right to be.
Posts calling out Democrats for “celebrating winning nothing” and demanding to “primary them all” don’t take off unless people are fed up. Young people and working people across the country have every right to be furious.
Last night, a GOP bill advanced because eight Democratic senators broke ranks. Schumer either couldn’t keep them in line or secretly supported it himself. If it’s the first, he’s inept. If it’s the second, he’s a liar. Either way, he’s failed to lead and proven he is incapable of leading the fight to stop health care premiums from skyrocketing for millions of Americans.
Here’s the truth: Democrats aren’t leading the opposition. Right now, ordinary people are showing up and fighting. People across the country have put their bodies on the line while the party that’s supposed to oppose the right keeps surrendering.
We’re taking matters into our own hands. We are ready to fund challengers who will stand up and fight for working people. Leaders who won’t cave to corporate power, won’t back down in the face of Republicans, and will actually fight for our future.
To win against Trump, we need to build an opposition party that doesn’t back down. That work is starting now.
