Dear John,
I’m not going to sugar coat what is happening right now. I’m PISSED.
Last night, eight members of the Senate failed us. The Senate passed yet another short-term funding deal — and once again, Washington congratulated itself for avoiding a crisis instead of actually solving one.
As I tweeted yesterday while rumors of the deal were unfolding:
Any “deal” that ends with Democrats just getting a pinky promise in return is a mistake.
The American people are suffering while too many Republicans — and yes, even some Democrats who are either retiring or not facing voters next year — refuse to take real action to stop healthcare costs from skyrocketing. Families are being crushed under the weight of prescription prices, hospital bills, and insurance premiums that keep rising while wages stay flat.
An agreement that doesn’t fix that reality falls massively short. We can’t keep papering over the pain with temporary deals while the root problems go unaddressed.
All of this is happening in the middle of what I call a “Made by Trump” affordability crisis — where the cost of everything from housing to groceries has spiraled out of control, and working families are being left to pick up the pieces.
I’ll keep fighting to make healthcare affordable, accessible, and fair — because every American deserves more than promises. They deserve REAL action.
I’ll always tell you the truth and it’s that there is a division in this party between fighters and folders. I’m on TEAM FIGHT BACK and I will never stop.
