I'll be honest, John. I never saw
myself serving in the U.S. Senate.
This is a longer email about my story and how I came to fight for
hardworking Coloradans in the Senate, and I hope you’ll read it until the
end. [ [link removed] ]But if you don’t have time, please, take a moment and split a
donation between Heartland Patriots and my campaign to help us defend our
states and take back the Senate. →

Back in the mid-1980s, I was a geologist – until I was laid off for 27
months. Then, I took every scrap of savings in my bank account and took a
gamble on opening my own business, Wynkoop Brewing Company, in downtown
Denver.

I remember working 80-hour weeks. I remember lying awake at night
wondering how we were going to make it. And I remember being so angry that
my government wasn't working for me.
So, I ran for Mayor. And once elected, I focused every day on making
decisions based on what was best for Denver.
Then, I was elected Governor on the premise of uniting people, finding
common ground, hashing things out, and getting things done.
And after we flipped Colorado’s Senate seat in 2020, I got my hands dirty
working hard to deliver real change for Coloradans. We invested billions
of dollars to confront the climate crisis, lowered prescription drug
costs, made investments to rebuild our infrastructure, and brought
thousands of good-paying manufacturing jobs back to America.
But John, I’ve also seen how
broken Washington is. I see politicians who only listen to those who cut
big campaign checks while ignoring the rest of us. And it’s clear we need
more leaders who are willing to cut through the political deadlock and
work to move this country forward.
Here's why I'm telling you this: my story is the reason I remain grounded
amid the nonsense and dysfunction that's happening in our government.
Because with all the chaos in Washington, you need somebody who rolls up
their sleeves and fights every day for all of us – not just those they
agree with.
Like I said, I never thought I'd find myself in the U.S. Senate, but I’m
running for re-election because Coloradans deserve a leader they can trust
to do right by them. And I'm just a geologist-turned-brewer who entered
public service to do what's right for the people of my state.
That’s why I don't take money from corporate PACs like your typical
politician. Instead, I rely on grassroots folks like you. And it’s why I'm
depending on your contribution today. Even just $5 here or $10 there goes
a long way in a campaign like ours.

to you between Heartland Patriots and my campaign? Together, we can defend
this seat we flipped back in 2020 and keep power in the hands of working
people:
