Friend, did you catch this conversation I had with Brian Tyler Cohen? 👇 I shared my vision for redistricting in Colorado. You can catch our full conversation here. It’s pretty straightforward: When Trump and his Republican allies try to gain an unfair advantage through unprecedented mid-cycle redistricting, we cannot stand idly by.
Some have said that we cannot pull off changing our state constitution to allow for an emergency redistricting option if this trend continues. My answer is this: we must be vigilant and do all we can to defend our republic. If Republican-led states like Texas, North Carolina, and Missouri are going to start redrawing maps more than once a decade, then we in Colorado cannot be blind to the reality we are living in and do nothing. In short, we need to fight hard to win elections in 2026, and we need to be ready to adapt to a changing world of mid-cycle redistricting. For Colorado to change our state constitution, more than 55% of voters will need to support adding a "break glass in case of emergency" procedure that allows for mid-cycle redistricting. By adopting such a procedure, Colorado would be in a position to respond to Republican-led states attempting to unfairly redraw their maps — and we might even be able to deter them. We will fight for what is fair. If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:
