Eight Senate Democrats just cravenly abandoned our principled stand to hold the Trump Administration accountable and save healthcare for millions of people. We call them the MAGA Appeasing Eight. 

Their ridiculous deal to fund the government for a mere “promise” to vote on ACA subsidies is an unmitigated disaster. It is time for a new generation of leadership.

We don’t want the government to be shut down, or for people to suffer — but capitulating at this moment betrays everything that voters asked of us: to take a stand, to fight for them, and to do one simple thing to stop a catastrophic rise in costs for basic healthcare. 

Just look at the right wing media coverage: Democrats “caving” and surrendering, getting nothing guaranteed in return.

Sadly, longtime career politicians like my home state Sen. Jeanne Shaheen were at the center of this fiasco. The Shaheen family name has been in New Hampshire politics for decades. Literally my whole life in NH they have been calling the shots. It’s time to move on from it.

I am in this race because Democrats must meet the moment. But my opponents include a Dem backed by MAGA AIPAC donors and Sen. Shaheen’s own daughter who is benefitting from her powerful family’s connections. 

It is clear that we need a new generation of leadership. Leadership that is not tied to the failures that brought us here and leadership that will stand up for working families and not “cave” when the going gets tough. I also will never let AIPAC call the shots. 

If we don’t act we will be electing yet another sell-out Democrat who will side with MAGA or AIPAC when it matters most.

Will you stand with me against this “deal”? More of the same will only solidify MAGA’s tightening grip over our democracy and our freedoms. I pledge to fight like hell for us, but I can’t do this alone. I need your support to oust the old guard that refuses to stand up for working people:
