At the age of 17, I took an Oath to defend the Constitution of the United States of America by enlisting in the U.S. Marine Corps. Now I'm making another pledge. I commit to making the SALUTE Act the first bill I will introduce when I'm in Congress.
The SALUTE Act (Securing Active-duty Livelihoods Under Temporary Emergencies)—a common-sense law to guarantee that active-duty service members, Guard, and Reservists continue to receive full pay and benefits during any federal shutdown. No politics. No delays. Just paychecks on time.
