It’s the day before Veterans Day and members of Congress are threatening to leave veterans behind in their attempt to end the government shutdown.
Last night, the Senate agreed to move forward with federal funding legislation that makes changes to military spending but leaves much of last year’s funding levels intact.
Unfortunately, lawmakers failed to include language that had been previously approved by both chambers to allow Veterans Affairs doctors to explicitly recommend medical cannabis to their patients in accordance with state laws.
This popular provision would cost the government nothing and would greatly improve access to life-saving medicine for those who bravely served their country.
