Dear John,
After more than 40 days of chaos and obstruction, enough Senate Democrats have finally come to their senses and found a way out of the mess they created.
The Senate’s bipartisan, extortion-free agreement to reopen the government — paired with key year-long appropriations bills, including Military Construction and Veterans Affairs — is a welcome step toward restoring stability for hardworking Americans.
When this bill comes to the House, it’s expected to pass with strong Republican support. President Trump has signaled he will sign it — a victory for the American people and a rejection of Washington gamesmanship.
This is a win for our troops at Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station, the VA clinics serving Western New York and the Southern Tier, and the working families who rely on SNAP and WIC. It also means our air traffic controllers, Border Patrol agents, and essential workers will finally get the paychecks they’ve earned.
For too long, Democrats held the country hostage — blocking a clean, bipartisan bill that 99% of Republicans supported. While they played politics, real families suffered, and critical services were stalled.
I’m proud of the unity and resolve House Republicans showed. We stood firm against Democrats’ reckless demand to spend $1.5 trillion we don’t have — including hundreds of billions on benefits for illegal immigrants.
But make no mistake — Chuck Schumer, Hakeem Jeffries, and even New York City communists like Zohran Mamdani are already fighting to keep this shutdown alive. When Albany radicals and NYC communists are against something, you can bet it’s probably the right move for Western New York families.
I’ll keep fighting every day to lower costs, defend taxpayers, and make government work for the people who pay the bills — but I can’t do it alone.
Chip in $25, $50, or $100 today to help me keep standing up to Washington’s partisanship and fight for balance, accountability, and common sense.
