John, For 40 days Democrats held strong, refusing to compromise with MAGA to reopen the government unless ACA subsidies were extended to prevent healthcare premiums from skyrocketing for millions of Americans. Momentum was on our side. Trump and MAGA were getting hammered for the shutdown. The American people rewarded Democrats for fighting for their healthcare with landslide victories across the country last Tuesday. And then last night, 8 Democrats surrendered and cut a horrendous deal with MAGA: John Fetterman, Dick Durbin, Maggie Hassan, Tim Kaine, Angus King, Catherine Cortez Masto, Jackie Rosen, Jeanne Shaheen. The deal is a joke—reopening the government in exchange for a pinky promise by MAGA to vote on whether to extend ACA subsidies in December. That’s right, they cut a deal that hinges on a “trust me bro” from some of the biggest liars in the world. This is a betrayal to the American people and Democrats everywhere. It’s the kind of cowardice that has become synonymous with modern Democrats. And it’s how MAGA keeps winning — not just through fear and hate, but through the corruption and cowardice infecting our own party. We’ve watched it for years: Democrats who talk tough, who promise to fight for working people, then fold the second the pressure hits.  And this is exactly why we call out the MAGA and AIPAC operatives who are funneling money into my opponent’s campaign. Because MAGA-funded Democrats aren’t being bankrolled to be strong Democrats in Congress — they’re being paid to fold to Trump and billionaire interests when commanded. This is the rot that’s poisoned our party: billionaire and corporate money, cowardice, and leaders who have no convictions to fight for. It’s not just weakness — it’s corruption. And it’s killing our country. When I get to Congress, I won’t flinch in the face of MAGA. I won’t cut deals with extremists or take marching orders from billionaires. I’ll fight them tooth and nail because I’m accountable only to the ordinary people who have built this campaign. If you’re done watching Democrats surrender while our country burns, then stand with me. Let’s take our party and our democracy back.
