Dear Friends,
What a whirlwind this past month has been! Amidst these heartbreaking times, the joy of being with you in person has solidified Room for All’s determination to continue our vocal, visible witness to the inclusive love of God. On behalf of the entire board, we offer our sincere thanks to everyone who made the National Conference possible, from volunteers to presenters to attendees and of course, our incredible hosts at Hope Church.

A trio of conference highlights: up top, our group photo after closing worship in Hope Church, bottom left, Rev. R.R. Tavárez delivering his keynote speech, and bottom right, Rev. Dr. Mara Norden moderating our panel discussion, Our Response to God's Faithfulness: Voices from the RCA & CRC

As the year begins to close, important observances for the LGBTQIA+ community are just around the corner, and our programming continues! Transgender Day of Remembrance will find me behind the pulpit at the historic First Presbyterian Church of Seneca Falls, New York, speaking to the truth that transgender and gender expansive people are made in the image of God, who loves us. Our friends at the Transmission Ministry Collective will be leading their annual virtual prayer vigil: find out more at RoomforAll.com/TDOR where direct links will connect you to them for their event on Thursday, November 20th at 7pm ET.

I’m excited to announce that on Monday, December 1st, in honor of World AIDS Day, I will be livestreaming an Interview of Jan Koopman, former Board Member and Advocate for people with HIV/AIDS during the height of the crisis in the U.S.A. Register to join our webinar at 10:45 AM ET. Attendees are encouraged to share with me the names of people they are missing who lost their lives to this disease, for a remembrance at the conclusion of our program.

Finally, I am continuing our traditional virtual Advent Devotional program, and we will be meeting weekly through December. I’m relying on you to tell me when: please respond to my poll to let me know the best day/time for our meetings. We will be following the SALT Project’s resource, Maya Angelou and the Freedom Poetry of Advent, which RfA will provide digitally to participants. Can’t make virtual meetings work, but want to follow along? Reach out to me at [email protected] and I’ll share it with you for your personal use, too!

I am so encouraged by the renewed energy and momentum that came from our time in West Michigan, and I’m eager to gather in person again early on in 2026. Our events, provision of trainings and educational/liturgical resources are entirely made possible because of your financial support. Between now and the end of the year, your gifts will inform how Room for All can be more actively present around the country, and help us strategize to make stronger calls for true hospitality and inclusion within the RCA. On the other side of our milestone 20th anniversary gathering, Room for All continues its vital work: thank you for being a part of it.

With gratitude and love,

Mitchel Leet, Associate Director
