Friends,
I’m keeping up the fight and voting NO on the Republicans’ spending proposal.
The truth is this proposal fails to tackle the Republican-created health care crisis, premiums are spiking for millions of Americans, and it’s driving up costs for everyone as fewer people can afford to pay into the healthcare system.
I refuse to turn my back on the 24 million Americans — including the nearly 2 million Californians — who rely on the ACA premium tax credits to afford health care, the very tax credit that Republicans are refusing to extend.
I refuse to turn my back on the families barely making ends meet and who are now being denied SNAP benefits to put food on their table because of the cruelty of the Trump administration.
Trump can find the money for billionaire tax breaks, a $40 billion dollar bail out for Argentina, and to build a White House ballroom nobody asked for, but he can’t find money to help American families keep their health care?
How many times have you heard Republicans say they will “repeal and replace Obamacare?” The truth is they have no plan. Republicans would rather see millions lose their health care or face massive premium increases than propose a real solution to the health care crisis they created.
We must hold the line.
Both Senator Adam Schiff and I are proud to stand firm in voting NO. We won’t give up now. We’re going to keep up the fight.
