Last night, the government shutdown ended.

Eight Democratic senators voted with Republicans to pass the continuing resolution to reopen the government.

But those eight Democrats seem to have forgotten what this shutdown was about — protecting the Affordable Care Act. And now, because of their votes, we could lose the historic legislation passed by President Obama and see our healthcare system dismantled in a matter of days.

This is something we cannot stand for.

Our two Democratic senators, Senator Gallego and Senator Kelly, voted no — because they knew that reopening the government under these conditions would allow the Trump administration to gut our healthcare system and weaken our institutions even more.

Arizona Democrats will not stand for this. But then again, Arizona Democrats aren’t like the others — we’re fighters. We’re willing to stand up to MAGA and defend our values.

That’s why electing and re-electing Democrats in 2026 is so critical. Governor Hobbs, Attorney General Mayes, Secretary of State Fontes, and all Arizona Democrats will never capitulate to MAGA extremism.
