ICYMI: Multiple Senate Democrats just gave in to MAGA Republicans to end the government shutdown — and they got nothing in return to protect healthcare for 25 million Americans.
The only thing Senate Democrats received was a “promise” from MAGA Republicans to hold a vote on healthcare in the future.
A promise is only as good as the trust you have in the folks making it, or the leverage you have if they break it. And now, those Senate Democrats just gave up their leverage to MAGA politicians we know we can’t trust.
John, this is insane. We should be absolutely furious because this is a betrayal.
But at the same time, I can’t help but think, this whole fight — about shutdowns, subsidies, and who “deserves” care — wouldn’t even exist if we had Medicare for All.
Every American should have a baseline public health insurance plan that covers comprehensive care, including hearing, dental, and vision. That’s what Medicare for All can do.
We already spend enough money in the system to make Medicare for All a reality. But right now, that money is being siphoned off by corporate executives in the insurance industry who profit from keeping healthcare incomplete.
That’s why we need leaders with the moral clarity to call out this corruption and fix it, not the old-guard politicians who take money from corporate lobbyists and protect the broken system.
I’m the only candidate in this race fighting for Medicare for All, and the only one who’s never taken a dime from corporate PACs.
