VIDEO OF THE DAY: Trump booed mercilessly at Washington Commanders football game before hijacking broadcast booth to "call the game"
Fresh off an electoral shellacking last week, America's wannabe dictator ventured out to Northwest Stadium in nearby Landover, Maryland, to take in a little football Sunday night and cosplay as a color commentator and purported man of the people. Unfortunately for Donald, the people were having exactly NONE of it. The MAGA cult leader was bombarded with a merciless chorus of boos and the simultaneous flight of thousands of middle-finger birds from a stadium full of football fans officially over his bullshit. When you lose the pigskin faithful, you've truly lost the plot. Roll the tape and pump up the volume for maximum, Monday morning satisfaction!

Clutching defeat from the jaws of victory, eight Senate Democrats cave in historic shutdown fight, clearing path for GOP to reopen government without any healthcare guarantees
Not five full days removed from a resounding electoral victory, where Democrats across the party spectrum made impressive inroads in deep-red MAGA territory and delivered one stunning repudiation of Donald Trump after another, a gang of Senate Democrats proudly fumbled the football on the one-yard line with four downs to spare. Eight Senate Democrats — NONE of whom are facing re-election next year — crossed the aisle and agreed to clear the way for Congress to reopen the government in exchange for… a pinky promise on a stand-alone vote on healthcare subsidies in December. Seriously. "This deal guarantees a vote to extend Affordable Care Act premium tax credits, which Republicans weren't willing to do," said Virginia Democratic Sen. Tim Kaine, highlighting a meaningless concession that will improve zero lives as the vote will almost certainly fail.
Kaine and others say they supported the deal primarily because it includes protections and backpay for hundreds of thousands of federal workers, many of whom live in his state — even as Trump has sworn to ignore any legislation around who the government must hire.
Sen. Minority Leader Chuck Schumer — who is voting "NO" — is understandably catching all manner of hell from furious members of his own party. The five-term senior senator from New York either secretly orchestrated this deal with a gang of turncoat "moderates" or he failed to hold his conference together when it truly mattered, with American lives on the line. Neither scenario is acceptable, and both are disqualifying. Democratic voters are right to be angry this morning, but it's important to remember that after 40 days, 97% of congressional Democrats still stand shoulder to shoulder with the American people, and we have seen, with Republicans’ determination to starve Americans in order to deny them healthcare, how truly craven and cruel the ruling party is. We must do better, and we must hold those in our ranks accountable when they fail us in such spectacular fashion. How many Americans will die for lack of care or fall into poverty for its cost in the meantime?

Arkansas farmer takes on pro-hunger Republican Senator
Hallie Shoffner for Senate: Millions of Americans are going hungry without their SNAP benefits, and Senator Tom Cotton thinks they should STAY hungry. He’s voted against the Farm Bill - legislation that helps fight hunger in the U.S. - twice because he doesn’t care about feeding people. As a farmer, Hallie Shoffner cares very deeply about feeding people, and she knows the hard way what it means to have to fight like hell for everything you have and STILL get hammered by an economy that’s rigged against you — a system rigged by people like Tom Cotton. As senator, she'll fight that rigged system every day. Will you chip in to help kickstart the motor on her campaign and kick one of the worst of the worst Republicans out of the Senate for good?
Trump pardons Rudy Giuliani and others who backed efforts to overturn 2020 election
The president has pardoned 78 of his loyal minions who were involved in the very clumsy but very dangerous effort to overturn the 2020 election, including Rudy Giuliani and fellow crackpot attorneys Sidney Powell, John Eastman, and Kenneth Chesebro. Oh, also Trump's former chief of staff, Mark Meadows, who was all in on the wannabe dictators' plan to undermine nearly 250 years of democracy in America. "I, DONALD J. TRUMP, do hereby grant a full, complete, and unconditional pardon to all United States citizens for conduct relating to the advice, creation, organization, execution, submission, support, voting, activities in, or advocacy for or of any slate of presidential electors ... in connection with the 2020 Presidential Election," the proclamation posted by Trump’s pardon attorney Ed Martin reads. These pardons are largely symbolic, as most of the people involved were not convicted of federal crimes, but they do send a message — that subverting our democracy and our electoral processes in service of Donald Trump is an act to be rewarded for, not punished.

Trump promises $2,000 "dividends" to most Americans during Sunday morning Truth Social posting spree
We've officially reached Grasping at Silly Straws™ levels of panic in the Trump White House, folks. In yet another signature Truth Social posting spree, our great imbecile-in-chief promised dividend checks of "at least $2,000 a person" — to be paid for by phantom revenue from his precious tariffs. Trump provided no further details, of course, and his own Treasury Sec. Scott Bessent immediately began walking back the proposal on TV. In an interview with George Stephanopoulos on ABC News, Bessent openly admitted that he had not discussed tariff dividends with Trump, then laughably suggested that said "checks" could actually arrive "in lots of forms," specifically through tax cuts embedded in the president's recently passed Big Bill of Bullshit. Bessent gobbledygooked: "It could be just the tax decreases that we are seeing on the president's agenda. You know, no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, no tax on Social Security, deductibility of auto loans. So, you know, those are substantial deductions that, you know, are being financed in the tax bill." Hmmmm, that doesn't sound like a dividend check now, does it? More like a pathetic bait and switch from a Cabinet member desperate NOT to sign hundreds of billions of dollars worth of checks he knows his department cannot cash.

Trump falls for obvious satire claiming Barack Obama getting Obamacare "royalties"
Okay. Barack Obama is obviously not receiving $2.5 million annual "royalty" payments from the Affordable Care Act. The "claim," which the president of the United States shared online yesterday with a thumb-smashed "WOW!" to boot, originated from America’s Last Line of Defense, a satirical Facebook page calling itself — we are not making this up — "Home of the Dunning-Kruger Times." A disclaimer on the page literally reads: "The flagship of the ALLOD network of trollery and propaganda for cash. Nothing on this page is real." Who wants to tell him? Oh, never mind.
House Democrat says Ghislaine Maxwell is getting "grotesque pampering" in cushy prison
In no way should anyone connect the very obvious, bright-red dots of Ghislaine Maxwell, a convicted sex-trafficker, playing ball with Trump's DOJ on all things Jeffrey Epstein AND receiving a timely upgrade from a federal prison in Florida to a minimum-security facility in Bryan, Texas. Often referred to as Club Fed, Federal Prison Camp Bryan sits on the grounds of a former hunting lodge and is known for its notoriously cushy confines typically reserved for white-collar, non-violent criminals. Just the kind of place a serial sex abuser deserves to serve out her 20-year sentence, right? No? In a scathing letter to Donald Trump, House Democrat Jamie Raskin demanded an explanation for the "grotesque pampering" Maxwell is currently receiving and noted that one top prison official was "sick of having to be Maxwell’s bitch." Nope, definitely nothing suspicious or nefarious going on here, people!
German far-right influencer applies for asylum in US
25-year-old Naomi Seibt, a prominent far-right German activist and influencer, is seeking political asylum in the US, arguing she is being persecuted at home for her super problematic and deeply offensive beliefs. Seibt, an outspoken supporter of the extremist, anti-immigration Alternative für Deutschland Party, claims German domestic intelligence is tracking her movements and is seeking asylum in the United States, where her rampant xenophobia and malignant, far-right views on everything from climate science to feminism to eugenics and more will find more fertile ground in which to grow.

Federalist chief delivers stunning condemnation of Trump: "He looks weak and rudderless"
It's not every day the sycophants at the far-right Federalist Society really lay into the MAGA cult leader or his congressional cronies, but last Tuesday's ass-whoopin' at the polls has clearly ruffled a few lily white feathers. Sean Davis, a former Daily Caller executive and the co-founder of The Federalist digital magazine, did not hold back on Sunday, writing: "I don't know who is advising congressional Republicans on strategy right now, but…whoever it is has an IQ barely approaching room temperature." He continued, "Republicans right now have no accomplishments, no plans, and no vision. Why on earth would anyone be excited to go vote for them 12 months [from] now? Trump needs to ditch the foreign policy crap and focus all his attention on the domestic economy, which is still not working for the majority of people. Right now he looks weak and rudderless. Be mad all you want, but it’s the truth." Wow. Weak, rudderless, and low IQ. Cannot WAIT to hear Donald's measured response which definitely will not include any juvenile jabs at Davis' physical appearance.
