BMWED COVID-19 RESOURCES
As a reminder, the BMWED has set-up a COVID-19 resource page for all
members who contract or are exposed to the virus. Also included is a
link to the Railroad Retirement Board's COVID-19 resource page, which
will assist you in collecting your disability payments in the event you
become sick.

It is important to contact your respective system officer immediately
if you contract or are exposed to the virus. All Brotherhood officers
remain in frequent contact with the railroads and can help you navigate
the processes to keep you safe, retain income, assist with any
insurance questions and note your absence. Every railroad is different.
It is important to contact your system office. They can also be of
great guidance in dealing with the RRB. Also, instruct your spouse now
about this process as you may need their assistance in the event you
get sick.

Our demands of the railroads are detailed in the letters sent earlier
this month. They are a length, comprehensive list, including
containment practices, testing and tracing procedures, compensation for
time missed, and various other important details. You can find them on
our website, as well.

Please remember to think of others and yourselves and do what you can
to protect and stay safe. We all must be united in the general welfare
of all railroaders. This virus is not inconsequential or tame. It has
killed four men in our Brotherhood and inflicted hundreds of others.
