Last night, some Senate Democrats caved. They voted with Republicans to forward a bill that is not going to protect the ACA extensions.

20 million Americans are now going to watch their health insurance premiums double, triple, and in some cases, even quadruple. 15 million Americans could lose their health insurance. All because some Democrats didn't stand up and fight.

Chuck Schumer failed in his job yet again. The establishment does not understand that when we actually fight, we win. When we hold the line for working families, we win. But they don't get it. They see all of this as a game. But these are not just numbers on a sheet of paper. These are people's lives.

I can tell you that, here in Eastern Maine, a doubling of health care premiums destroys families. That's not an exaggeration or hyperbole. That is real, and it is going to happen. It’s why it is imperative that we elect new Democrats to the Senate that want to fight. That care about people. That care about the actual outcomes of policies. Because until we elect more Democrats that understand that fighting is what we need to do, we are going to find ourselves in this position over and over again.

Susan Collins is the most vulnerable Republican senator in the country. We can defeat her and elect a Democrat who will go down to Washington and actually stand up to fascism and fight for our democracy, for our health care, and for the working class. But I am going up against the entire DC political establishment, so I need your help.
