it’s Tammy. We have lots of work to do today to protect the American people from Trump’s chaos, so I’ll get right to it:

Throughout the longest government shutdown in American history, Donald Trump and Republicans have refused to lift a finger to help American families.

From soaring health care premiums to abandoning food assistance, they have repeatedly left their own constituents out to dry.

Trump and Republicans refuse to fight for American families, but I refuse to give up on them.

This week, the Senate meets to decide whether we should allow Republicans to skirt rising health care costs to reopen the government.

I voted against their empty promises last night, and I will continue to do so. I simply cannot vote to do nothing to protect American families from Trump’s vindictive efforts in exchange for a vague gesture from the least trustworthy Republican party in our nation’s history.

This is the time to keep fighting to bring costs down and protect the American people.

I am laser-focused on supporting middle class families in the Senate, but I cannot do this important work alone. No one can.
