Nov 10-11: Marines’ Milestone, Veterans’ Gratitude
This November, we mark two profound milestones that call us to gratitude and remembrance: the 250th anniversary of the United States Marine Corps on November 10th, and Veterans Day on November 11th.
On November 10, 1775<[link removed] Materials/CREST Manual/RP0105.pdf?R6wF9AvbqY=9DDE36D7DCEFC38769A1E54F356A5E5A>, the Continental Congress raised two battalions of Marines in Philadelphia—men who would go on to fight with valor from the decks of ships to the shores of Tripoli. For 250 years, the Marines<[link removed]> have embodied courage, commitment, and sacrifice, earning their motto Semper Fidelis—Always Faithful—through every generation of service.
On November 11th, we observe Veterans Day<[link removed]>, a dedicated time to honor all who have worn the uniform of the United States Armed Forces. From the frozen fields of Valley Forge to the beaches of Normandy and the deserts of the Middle East, America’s veterans have defended liberty with unwavering resolve.
This week, take a moment<[link removed]> to thank a veteran, visit a memorial, or attend<[link removed]> a Veterans Day event. Let us teach the rising generation that freedom is not free and valor deserves honor.
