Governor Encourages Financial Institutions to Participate in Small Business Emergency Bridge Loan Program
"Recovery isn’t easy or inexpensive."
CHEYENNE, Wyo. - Nov. 6, 2025 -Governor Mark Gordon (R-WY) encourages Wyoming financial institutions and those affected by wildfires to participate in the Small Business Emergency Bridge Loan program.
The Wyoming Legislature established the Small Business Emergency Bridge Loan program during the 2025 General Session. This program aims to assist small businesses by collaborating with local financial institutions to process loans that address business needs following a natural disaster. Small businesses in counties where the Governor has declared a natural disaster are eligible for loans under this program, for up to two years following the declaration.
“When Wyoming financial institutions register for the Small Business Emergency Bridge Loan Program, they can provide an important lifeline for small businesses in counties impacted by natural disasters,” Governor Gordon said.
The program permits loans to cover losses for various business expenses, including fences, livestock, and inventory. It offers a valuable solution for addressing unexpected costs associated with natural disasters, such as wildfires.
“Wyoming has experienced some of the worst devastation wildfires can bring for the last two years. Recovery isn’t easy or inexpensive. Recognizing the challenges for small businesses, the Wyoming Legislature authorized this program to help Wyoming small businesses get back on their feet,” Governor Gordon said.
Details on the Small Business Emergency Bridge Loan Program can be found on the Wyoming Office of State Lands and Investment website.
