It has been almost two months since the House passed the HEROES Act in response to the coronavirus pandemic and the economic catastrophe we are facing. I'm proud to have voted for this bill that will assist millions of Americans who have suffered from job losses, foreclosures, eviction warnings, bankruptcies, health care coverage loss and so much more.
A one-time $1,200 stimulus check for most families is not enough to help families through a serious time of economic crisis. You need more and the Senate needs to do their job and protect the lives and livelihoods of the American people.
The Heroes Act provides strong support for state, local, territorial and tribal governments who desperately need funds to pay the health care workers, first responders, transportation workers, teachers and other vital workers who are keeping us safe.
