Rotten apple: If he has his way, New York mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani will destroy the city’s economic engine and rob New Yorkers of their entrepreneurial spirit, explains a panel of Heritage Foundation experts.

  • “The free-market process is one of faith...in entrepreneurs and innovators,” said Richard Stern, acting director of the Thomas A. Roe Institute for Economic Policy Studies.
  • Research Associate John Peluso warned that Mamdani’s ascendance could inspire other socialists to run for office at the local level and must be stopped if Americans in general are to maintain their prosperity.

Off the rails: Heritage legal scholars have started to issue dishonorable conduct awards to rogue judges who fail to impartially apply the law to the facts.

  • First “winners” are Judge Edward Chen from the Northern District of California and three judges from the 9th Circuit who "simply ignored the statutory language altogether,” write Heritage Senior Legal Fellows Hans von Spakovsky and Tom Jipping.

Persecuted: President Trump did a public service by calling out the horrifying persecution of Christians in Nigeria, which alerted the American public to an ongoing issue across the continent.

  • “American waterfronts can kickstart investments by nominating themselves as Maritime Prosperity Zones (MPZs),” writes Senior Research Fellow Brent Sadler.

What Is ‘Arctic Frost’ and Why Should You Care?

Justice undermined: Operation Arctic Frost was a coordinated effort at the FBI and Justice Department to undermine President Trump and the conservative movement, said Mike Howell, head of the Oversight Project—an independent investigative organization launched at Heritage.

  • The point “was to put a dragnet around all those who raised claims about the validity of the [2020] election."

Shh: The Left’s penchant for censorship goes back at least six decades—but it’s back and worse than ever in the digital age.

  • “This idea that a ‘stupid opinion’ cannot be treated equally with an ‘intelligent one,’ as defined by the Left, is heard today, again and again, in support of censoring online content,” writes Senior Fellow Mike Gonzalez.
