Dear John,
Lobbyists from the world’s worst polluting companies – and the billionaires who get rich from them – have descended on Belem in Brazil this week. Their aim? To derail the UN climate talks for the sake of profit – with humanity paying the price.
For the sake of everyone on this planet, we must not let them win.
We’re at the talks too – to demand that world leaders listen to people, not profiteers. You can help by signing this petition. Demand that the greedy companies who’ve caused the climate crisis are made to pay to fix it.
I'LL SIGN THE PETITION ( [link removed] )
There’s not a person in the world that this won’t impact. From extreme weather to energy and food prices, this is a global crisis with a global impact. And the people least responsible for all of this are the ones at the forefront of the effects.
“We all know what the lobbyists want. It’s to increase their profits, with the price being paid by humankind.”
This is what the UN’s general secretary, António Guterres, said days before he leads the negotiations [1]. So it’s no secret who’s responsible, or what the stakes are. We’re here to show the leaders and lobbyists they aren’t fooling anyone.
Add your voice and show them that we see them and we’ve had enough. Big polluters must use their big profits to pay for the damage they’ve done.
I'LL SIGN THE PETITION ( [link removed] )
Thank you for joining the fight for climate justice,
Asad Rehman,
Chief executive, Friends of the Earth
