John xxxxxx,
This is a longer email about ethics and corruption. It’s very important to me that you read all the way through. But if you don’t have time and still want to contribute to my campaign, you can do so through this link: secure.numero.ai/contribute/2511_q4_blb/[email protected]
One of the biggest headlines this week was the news that Nancy Pelosi was retiring.
While Pelosi has served our country for decades in public office, it’s hard not to notice the elephant in the room. When a member of Congress leaves Washington having amassed an estimated personal fortune north of $200 million—largely through EXCEPTIONALLY timed stock trades made by her and her spouse—it’s not just a retirement story. It’s a corruption story.
It’s the perfect illustration of what I've been talking about: The D.C. political class using public office to run a self-serving casino. I don’t give a damn which party they belong to. Corruption is wrong no matter who does it.
On the Democratic side, you have the Pelosi family profiting from access to information.
On the Republican side, you have Marjorie Taylor Greene making questionable, lucrative stock trades right before Trump tariff announcements, and we don’t even have time to run down the list of all the outrageously corrupt acts Trump has engaged in these past nine months, from his crypto coin to the Qatari jet.
I retired as an Air Force Lieutenant Colonel and federal ethics prosecutor. I swore an oath to defend the Constitution, not the wealth of politicians. This whole scheme—where lawmakers can trade stocks while having access to information that impacts those stocks—is a betrayal of the public trust, and it needs to end now.
The problem isn't just one party. The problem is the system that allows both parties to get rich off their office.
I am an Independent. I will not take a dime of corporate PAC money, and I believe we must ban congressional stock trading entirely. I'm fighting for the Cowboy Code which demands that we tell the truth and take care of our neighbors. I’m running against a political class that only takes care of itself.
If you’re disgusted by the sight of career politicians profiting while South Dakotans struggle, then help me fight back. Will you chip in $25 right now to fund the only campaign dedicated to banning Congressional stock trading?
