As the federal government continues its cruel family separation agenda, we need to step up locally. Join us at 2 PM on Saturday, November 15th for our second Immigration Know Your Rights Canvass! We’ll be talking with local workers and employers to help them prepare for how to respond to potential ICE actions.

SNAP Resources

The ongoing federal shutdown and actions by the Trump Administration have put critical SNAP benefits at risk, leaving many New Yorkers concerned about feeding their families.

While the White House attacks New York families, our local and state officials are stepping up. Governor Kathy Hochul has declared a state of emergency and announced $65 million in new state funding to strengthen food banks and pantries, providing approximately 40 million meals to those in need across the state. Last spring, when federal funding cuts reached our district, my Office also increased funding to local anti-hunger organizations.

It is important that all SNAP households continue to complete all SNAP requirements including recertifications, returning periodic reports, and reporting changes, even during the federal government shutdown.

Donate to Support Thanksgiving Meals for Public Housing Residents

Every year, our office partners with local organizations to provide Thanksgiving meals to families in public housing. This year, we’re anticipating unprecedented demand.

In response, we are partnering with the Gowanus Mutual Aid CSA program to raise funds for supplemental food resources. Your donation will help us ensure that every family has access to a full Thanksgiving meal.
