Community usually isn’t the first word associated with prison. An incarcerated individual is often counseled to keep to themselves and not cause any trouble. But this is where the Prison Fellowship(R) Academy aims to shatter prison norms.


At Great Plains Correctional Center in Oklahoma, that spirit of serving is alive and well, courtesy of the men in the Prison Fellowship Academy.


They embarked on an outside community project to benefit former service members now living at a state-run veterans home.


It was supposed to be a one-time event, but it turned into something more.
