Throughout the lapse in appropriations, finding a resolution to reopen our government is my top priority.

Safeguarding Our Southern Border

While serving on the House Appropriations Committee and the House Committee on Homeland Security, I've secured federal funding for modernized infrastructure in South and West Texas border communities to support trade, travel, and public safety.

I discussed what’s next on the agenda when it comes to supporting our CBP personnel with the Washington Examiner this week. Click the article below to learn more.

Backing Rural Communities

Farmers and ranchers fuel our nation, and our agricultural economy must remain prosperous.

I met with the Farm Credit Bank of Texas this week and had a productive conversation about their important work in providing financial assistance to our farmers and ranchers.

We must make sure our producers have the tools they need to succeed. I appreciated learning more about the resources available for rural communities across Texas.

On the Go in Hondo

On Monday, I visited Grassfield Farm in Hondo and got a firsthand look at their impressive cattle operation.

We had a productive conversation about protecting Texas' livestock industry from the deadly screwworm parasite.

From securing over $750 million for screwworm containment efforts to creating a screwworm response task force, combating this deadly parasite is top of mind.

Supporting Our Veterans

On Friday, I had the pleasure of speaking at the National Veterans Outreach Program's 27th Annual Veterans Stand Down in San Antonio.

The event helps connect veterans with a variety of community-based resources.

NVOP is doing amazing work addressing our veterans' needs, and as a veteran myself, I appreciated the opportunity to help out.
