I’m an educator, a mom, and a member of the House Education Committee – and I am appalled by recent cuts at the Department of Education.

This latest round of layoffs decimates the department responsible for special education services for 7.5 million students. As a teacher myself, I know that students can excel academically when the right accommodations are in place.

This move is a cruel gesture that puts so many students at risk. Add your name to stand with me in the fight for our teachers, students, and school staff.

John, teachers know they have a fighter in me. I proved that when I introduced bills to invest in more support for educators, increase recruitment and retention to keep teachers in the classroom, and diversify the education workforce to meet the unique needs of our communities.
