John, As you read this, Jon Ossoff is getting absolutely pummeled by attack ads in Georgia. Republicans have spent more than $10 million on TV and online already. It’s ridiculous. Why so much money, this far from Election Day? Because Jon Ossoff is the only Democratic Senator running for reelection in a state won by Trump. That is why Republicans are hitting him so hard, so early in the campaign. And it’s why we’re coming to you with this request to help fight back. If Jon is going to defend this seat, we really need to keep hitting our fundraising goals, and donations to emails like this are a huge part of how it happens.
We wish we didn’t have to ask at all, but Citizens United opened the dam for limitless dark money to flood into our elections. That’s a big part of why Congress is broken and corrupted. It’s why we have really expensive elections. And also, it’s why campaigns like ours have to build serious grassroots fundraising operations from the very start. Because if we don’t, we run the risk of our message getting drowned out by a flood of Super PAC spending. So here’s the truth: Jon needs our help today, John. He is literally MAGA’s #1 target. They will spare no expense and try every dirty trick in the book. So yes, this election will be tough. But this team knows how to win tough fights. We’ve done it before. Let’s do it again.
