As a kid, John was never the strongest, the fastest, or heck, even the smartest kid on the playground. But one thing he learned was that through determination, hard work, and perseverance — any challenge can be overcome.

In those early days, John didn’t have a single political bone in his body — he studied science and began his career as a geologist…

…until the company he worked for got bought out, leaving John laid off for 27 straight months.

So he gathered the friends he trusted most, and they all pitched in on a huge gamble: opening Colorado’s very first brewpub, Wynkoop Brewing Company.

John and his partners worked hard to build a successful business, but as time went on, John saw firsthand just how often the government seemed to work against the little guy — farmers, working people, and small business owners like him. So he took a big leap of faith, ran for Mayor of Denver — and won.

John later went on to serve two terms as Governor of Colorado. Then, in 2020, John flipped Colorado’s Senate seat from red-to-blue, and immediately got to work delivering big wins for working families and our environment.

But now with Donald Trump back in office, abusing his power to advance the extreme MAGA agenda and pushing our economy towards recession, John is doing everything in his power to fight back and protect working people from the worst of the GOP’s attacks.

Flipping the Senate blue in 2026 is a crucial step in John’s plan to fight back. That starts with defending Colorado, or else Democrats have no shot of taking back the majority.
