John,
While Speaker Mike Johnson has kept the House on recess since September 19th amidst the longest government shutdown in history, there are ongoing negotiations in the Senate to end the shutdown.
But Republicans are still stonewalling Democrats on healthcare affordability—so our Senators need to hear from us now. Send a message to your Senators demanding they work across the aisle on healthcare affordability now.
Open enrollment on the ACA Marketplace is underway, but because of skyrocketing premiums, millions of people are being forced to make impossible decisions. It’s estimated that four million people will lose their healthcare entirely unless Congress acts.
Write to your Senators and demand they renew the enhanced ACA premium tax credits that have been keeping health insurance affordable for tens of millions of people.
The affordability crisis is hitting every U.S. household―from food to healthcare to housing. Instead of tax breaks for billionaires, we’re demanding affordable healthcare for everyday people.
Thank you for taking action today,

John,
Open enrollment on the Affordable Care Act (ACA) Marketplace is officially underway, but millions could be priced out of affordable health insurance. Without congressional action, the enhanced ACA premium tax credits that make coverage affordable for tens of millions of people will expire December 31st, putting health costs out of reach for many working families.[1]
When these credits were first enacted, enrollment in the ACA more than doubled. They made it possible for millions of small business owners, gig workers, and families between jobs to finally afford care. If Congress fails to extend them, the average family will see premiums more than double starting in January. According to the Kaiser Family Foundation, a worker earning about $28,000 a year could see their annual premium jump by over $1,200 for the exact same coverage.
For a teacher, a retiree, or a single parent earning just enough to stay insured, that increase could mean losing access to medical care. Millions will be forced to choose between keeping their health coverage and paying their monthly bills and it’s estimated that four million people will be forced out of coverage altogether.
This should not be a partisan issue. Healthcare affordability affects everyone. Tell the Senate to work across the aisle and extend the enhanced ACA premium tax credits before it is too late.
We are calling on lawmakers to put families first and end the uncertainty. These enhanced tax credits are a resounding success as affordability measures, helping to save lives and strengthen the economy. Letting them expire would not only threaten coverage for millions, it would raise hospital costs and drive up premiums for everyone else.
It is unacceptable that working families face rising premiums while the ultra-wealthy enjoy special treatment, with congressional Republicans continuing to protect tax breaks for billionaires and large corporations. These choices reveal a clear set of priorities, and they are not the priorities of the American people.
There is strong bipartisan support among voters for keeping healthcare coverage affordable. The only question is whether Senate leaders will listen to the people they represent or continue to cater to corporate and billionaire interests.
Tell the Senate to extend the enhanced ACA premium tax credits now and keep affordable health coverage within reach for millions of Americans.
Together, we’ll fight for affordable care and economic fairness.
