Good afternoon, and welcome to our
Weekend Update.
I’m honored to receive President Donald
J. Trump’s endorsement and grateful for his support!
Together, we share a commitment to
putting America First, growing our economy, cutting burdensome
regulations, unleashing American energy and manufacturing, and
strengthening our national security.
I’ll continue working with President
Trump to build on the successes of his administration and strive every
day to deliver results for the people of Pennsylvania’s 9th District
and for our great nation!

Promises made. Promises kept.
One year ago, the American people elected
President Trump to put our country first, and safe to say, he
delivered. Today, the U.S. is stronger, safer, & more
prosperous—this is only the beginning, and the best is yet to
come.

Senate Democrats are holding the American people and our economy
hostage for political gain. They have found that the more unnecessary
pain they inflict on the country, and the more they can blame it on
Republicans, the stronger their political position becomes.
They really think people will keep believing their lies instead of
learning the truth. That’s exactly what Democrats are betting on.
Meanwhile, SNAP, Head Start, small business loans, veterans’ services,
air travel, federal employee pay, and countless other programs are
being disrupted because Senate Democrats refuse to act.
Republicans
voted to keep the government open and continue working on behalf of
the American people. It is time for Democrats to stop the political
games and do the same.
I joined "Newsline" on
Newsmax to discuss.

These words from Benjamin Franklin are etched into the U.S.
Department of Commerce: “Commerce among nations should be fair and
equitable.”
As the
Supreme Court considers President Trump’s emergency trade powers
tomorrow, it should keep our founders’ intentions when it comes to
trade in mind.
Trade should be both free and fair — and without the ability of
the President to defend America’s economic interests, our nation will
never achieve equitable commerce.
The Democrat-forced government shutdown
is the longest in U.S. history.
Senate Democrats continue to vote to keep
the government closed, blocking pay for essential federal employees
like our air traffic controllers and TSA agents.
Ahead of the busiest travel season of the
year, U.S. Senate Democrats must vote to reopen the government to
ensure Americans can travel safely and avoid unnecessary delays during
the holiday season.

IN NEWS YOU WON’T HEAR IN THE
MAINSTREAM MEDIA: President Trump continues to shatter border
records. He is delivering the most secure border in American history
and keeping our communities safe.
Under President Trump’s leadership, zero
illegal aliens were released into the United States for the sixth
month in a row, and CBP recorded the lowest
number of October crossings in history.

Highlights from the month of October:
- Lowest October ever recorded — 79% lower than last year under
Biden and 29% below the previous record.
- Six straight months with zero illegal releases into the
U.S.
- Fewer encounters in nine months under President Trump than in an
average month under Biden.
- Daily apprehensions at the southern border have dropped to 258 — a
95% drop from Biden’s average.
Nationwide apprehensions averaged under
10,000 per month under President Trump—an unprecedented level of
safety and security.
While President
Trump sets records for border security, Democrats are
endorsing open borders and communist
radicals like Zohran Mamdani. Their far-left agenda would put
American families in danger.
While President Trump has results to
show, our Governor, Josh Shapiro, only has rhetoric. This week, he
stated falsehoods about the vote of our good friend and colleague,
Congressman Rob Bresnahan, me and all Congressional Republicans for
the Working Families Tax Cut.
The Working Families Tax Cut strengthened
Medicaid for those it was intended to serve, protected and provided
additional funding for rural hospitals, and made government programs
more sustainable for years to come. What Governor Shapiro calls “cuts”
are actually commonsense reforms, including modest work requirements
for able-bodied adults enrolled in Medicaid that do not start until
2028.
Now, because Senate Democrats refuse to
open the government, funding for vital programs has been disrupted. If
just a few of them supported the clean, Republican-passed continuing
resolution, the government would be open today, and Pennsylvanians
would not be facing shortfalls or delays in any government program,
including SNAP.
Meanwhile, Shapiro continues to spread
misinformation and lecture others on integrity. The Shapiro
administration has grossly mismanaged the SNAP program, wasting $450
million in taxpayer dollars and resulting in a 10.76% error rate. It’s
laughable.
Someone once said, “Hypocrisy is the
tribute vice pays to virtue.” And oh, Josh Shapiro is paying it in
full.
Rob Bresnahan stands for Pennsylvanians
first. Shapiro should focus on passing a fiscally responsible budget
in Harrisburg and call on Senate Democrats to reopen the federal
government, instead of attacking the other side of the aisle. Rob is
doing his job; it’s time Shapiro did his. This is just the latest in a
growing number of reasons we MUST elect Stacy Garrity as our next
Governor.

I was glad to be in Schuylkill County on
Thursday evening, joined by friends and supporters at the JWR
Automobile Museum. A special thank-you to Brian, Michael & John
Rich, and the entire Rich family for their incredible hospitality, and
to Representative Jamie Barton and Gretchen Sterns for their
support.
We were joined by Senator Dave Argall and
Representatives Dane Watro, Joanne Stehr, and Tim Twardzik, as well as
Schuylkill County’s great commissioners Larry Padora and Boots
Hetherington, strong advocates for our region and great partners in
delivering results for Schuylkill County and all of Pennsylvania.
I truly appreciate everyone who joined
us. I had the opportunity to specifically recognize my good friend
Brian Rich by presenting him with a Trump watch as a token of
appreciation for his steadfast support and leadership.

It was a pleasure joining the Schuylkill
Chamber of Commerce’s annual Veterans Day Breakfast in Orwigsburg to
recognize and thank the brave men and women who have dedicated their
lives to bravely serving our nation.
I shared how my office and I are working
to support veterans across the 9th District, from helping secure VA
benefits to advancing legislation in Congress that improves access to
health care, housing, and career opportunities for our nation’s
heroes.
Thank you to Chamber President and CEO
Bob Carl and his team for hosting this event, and to keynote speaker
Ryan Aument for his dedication to Pennsylvania’s veterans. 🇺🇸
Also in attendance were: Senator David G.
Argall, PA State Rep. Dane Watro, PA State Rep. Tim Twardzik,
Commissioner Larry Padora, Commissioner Boots Hetherington, and
Commissioner Gary Hess.

It was a pleasure to attend the annual Veterans
Day Parade in downtown Bloomsburg today with Rep. Rob Leadbeter and my
Regional Director, former Army Chaplain (CPT) James May.
We heard from keynote speaker Lt. Col. (Ret.)
Phillip Resseguie, who spoke about the courage and sacrifice shown by
the brave men and women who have worn our nation’s uniform.
To all who have served and continue to serve our
great nation, thank you for your service!

I was proud to host a great group in Luzerne
County to support my friend and colleague, Congressman Rob Bresnahan.
We were honored to be joined by Chairman Jim Jordan, a true
conservative leader and fighter for truth, justice, and accountability
in Washington.
It was a special evening shared with my wife
Shelley, my daughter Jacqui, and my son Danny, along with so many
friends and neighbors who are energized to keep fighting for Northeast
Pennsylvania. We continue to work tirelessly for our constituents by
day and grow our base by night.
A big thank-you to my friend Jim Jordan for making
the trip to NEPA to support Rob Bresnahan, who continues to work
tirelessly to represent our shared conservative values and deliver
results for Northeast Pennsylvania. Together, we are committed to
defending the principles that make our nation strong and ensuring a
brighter future for Pennsylvania and the Nation.

Lastly, the 9th District lost a tremendous public
servant as former State Senate Majority Leader David "Chip" Brightbill
passed away earlier this week. Chip was a leader who made an
incredible impact in Lebanon County, leading the effort to secure
funding for Clarence Schock Memorial Park at Governor Dick, saving
Bordner’s Cabin, bringing home grants for infrastructure projects,
including the construction of the Lebanon Valley Expo Center, and many
other projects for the residents of Lebanon County. I was honored to
know and work with Chip over the years, who served as an experienced
sounding board for ideas and deeply cared about his community. Shelley
and I extend our thoughts and prayers to the Brightbill and Long
families. Click

May God continue to bless our nation. I look
forward to seeing you soon,
