John, I know we’re not strangers… But with how our campaign is growing, I wanted to take a moment to reintroduce myself.

My story begins right here in Illinois.

I was born to a single mom who struggled with substance abuse. My adopted father was a civil rights attorney who taught me that justice and equity are more than words—they're a way of life.

And after school, I’ll be honest… I didn’t know what the hell I should do with my life.

I felt aimless in my early 20s, but I wanted to make a difference. So I started organizing, meeting my neighbors, and working to make change in our community.

Long story short, John, it worked! With support from my community, I went from being a volunteer, to an organizer, to a state senator.

In the Illinois Senate, I passed bail reform, protected reproductive rights, and made healthcare more accessible and affordable.

And together, we've made great strides, but there's so much more work to be done at the federal level. So now I’m taking my fight to Congress!

I have a proven track record of getting big progressive policies done and taking on the status quo, John. But the special interests will do anything they can to put me on the sidelines of this fight – even if it means trying to buy this election.

We have to fight fire with fire through grassroots donations. So, John, can you donate $27 today to prove that our movement is more powerful than special interests? >>

– Robert Peters

Jo and her son
Robert Peters knows what it means to defy the odds. Born deaf to a mother battling addiction and raised by a social worker and a civil rights attorney on the South Side of Chicago, he learned early on what it means to fight for justice and care for the community.

That’s why he became a public servant—to build systems that work for all people.

Now, Robert is ready to take that fight to Washington and build an Illinois that works for all of us—not just the wealthy or well-connected. But he can’t do it alone.

So please, will you become a Founding Donor today and power this people-first, grassroots movement? >>
