If Colorado's going to provide the vision this country needs, friend, then as governor, it's on me to ensure we first meet Coloradans' most basic needs.
I'm talking about the bottom tier of the hierarchy. The must-haves for survival. Food. Water. Air. Housing.
But when rent eats up an entire paycheck (or more) every month, folks don’t have much left to meet other basic needs, let alone have economic security and safety.
I have a plan to tackle our housing affordability crisis, but I need to make sure it meets the needs of the people I'm running to serve – people like you and 4,999 more members of this grassroots team. Can you take a minute or two now to fill out my housing affordability survey before the cutoff at 11:59 p.m.?

Colorado's facing a lot of big problems. But when it comes to housing, we're in a full-blown crisis:
* The median sale cost of a home has nearly doubled over the last decade.
* Minimum-wage earners must work an 89-hour week to afford an apartment at fair market rent.
* Over half of renters here are cost-burdened.
* Eviction filings in 2024 skyrocketed more than 300% from 2020.
Falling supply and rising costs have put home ownership out of reach for too many and pushed Coloradans to live farther from their jobs. And the brunt of this crisis is shouldered by the most vulnerable in our communities.
So if we're going to make Colorado the best state to live, work and raise a family, we have to ensure Coloradans can afford to live where they work without spending more than 30% of their income on housing. And we all have a role to play in solving this crisis – including you, friend.
So will you please take a moment to fill out my housing affordability survey before midnight tonight? I can't fine-tune my plan to best meet your needs without first running it by you.
