After several days of uncertainty, 440,000 Minnesotans are receiving full SNAP benefits. Thanks to the lawsuit I helped bring against Donald Trump, children, seniors, and people with disabilities have begun receiving food assistance again.

It should never have come to this. In past federal shutdowns, SNAP benefits have been fully funded — but this time, Donald Trump chose to hold hungry Minnesotans hostage, while billionaires got richer literally by the second.

I refused to stand by while Minnesotans went hungry. I co-led a coalition of 23 attorneys general and three governors that sued the Trump administration for illegally suspending benefits.

I’m relieved our lawsuit to hold Trump accountable for this illegal and shameless behavior is helping to feed our neighbors, friends, and loved ones in Minnesota — and still outraged at his and his administration’s cruelty and lies.

I’ll never stop fighting to unrig this economy and the powerful interests — including in the White House — that profit off it while Americans suffer. But I rely on support from people like you to hold Trump and his MAGA allies accountable.
