John,
I’m endorsing a true progressive for Michigan’s open U.S. Senate seat: Dr. Abdul El-Sayed.
Abdul is the only candidate in the race who hasn’t pandered to AIPAC and who’s fighting for transformative changes like Medicare for All and ending medical debt.
He’s already cancelled over $700 million in medical debt for Michigan families, removed lead from Detroit’s elementary schools, secured free glasses for tens of thousands of kids, and made life-saving Narcan universally accessible. Imagine what he’ll do in the U.S. Senate.
This will be one of the most competitive races in the country, and Abdul is up against massive spending by AIPAC and corporate PACs. But polling shows Abdul is just two points behind AIPAC’s preferred candidate. With grassroots support, we can win this competitive primary and the general election.
Can you donate to our campaigns today to keep building the bench of progressive Democrats and showing that people power can overcome big money in politics?
We’ve seen established Democratic Party leadership spread anti-Muslim attacks and refuse to endorse Zohran Mamdani, or say he’s “not the future of the Democratic party.” But progressives like Zohran and Abdul are not only the future, they’re urgently needed in public office.
They’re actually aligned with what the American people want and need, and their boldness inspires voters.
Like me, Zohran, and most Americans, Abdul is demanding U.S. tax dollars go to struggling American communities rather than war crimes. Both Muslim and Arab American—historically underrepresented communities—Abdul and Zohran understand that we can’t simply tinker with the unjust status quo. We have to actually make things better for all Americans, not just those at the top.
While billionaires hoard more wealth, more Americans are living in poverty, and most already live paycheck to paycheck. We need transformative change, now.
Let’s elect the first Arab American, Muslim U.S. Senator—who fights for the people rather than billionaires or corporations. Will you join me in supporting Abdul by splitting a $10 donation between our campaigns today?

Here’s a photo from when I joined Abdul on a panel about how we’ve taken on corporate polluters and helped secure the right to clean air and water:
Understandably, the American people are disappointed by corporate Democrats who’ve failed to deliver what the people need, often prioritizing corporate donors like weapons companies over their constituents’ lives.
We need Democratic leaders who represent our voices, not those who pander to billionaire-funded Super PACs. Too many Americans have been swayed by racist fearmongering, which billionaires use to distract us from their growing wealth and power.
Too many Democratic political leaders think we should keep moving further to the right, abandoning vulnerable Americans. But that’s not only wrong, it’s unstrategic and ineffective.
The Democratic Party should be the party of, by, and for marginalized and working people—not a party that compromises with racists or fascists.
We inspire voters by listening to our base and by demanding the bold changes that people need to survive and thrive. That’s how Abdul can win this Senate seat—as long as he has the grassroots funds to connect with as many voters as possible. Every donation makes a big difference.
Please join me in supporting this progressive, Muslim, Arab American fighter for the people. Help Abdul overcome attacks from AIPAC and corporate PACs by splitting a donation between our campaigns today.
Thank you for fighting for a government that works for the people, not corporations.
Abdul isn’t stuck in the limited imagination that plagues so many of our leaders. He’s directly connecting with the people and changing the conversation about what’s possible. This is the leadership we need and deserve.
Additionally, polling shows Abdul is only two points behind AIPAC’s preferred candidate. With grassroots support, we can win this competitive primary and the general election.
John, together we’ll create a better future where everyone can thrive.
In solidarity,
Rashida

John,
I’m proud to endorse Dr. Abdul El-Sayed for Michigan’s open U.S. Senate seat. He’s running to build a government that actually works for working people, not corporations or would-be oligarchs.
Abdul is the only candidate in the race who’s never taken a dime from corporate PACs, and who has never pandered to pro genocide groups like AIPAC. Could you chip in to power his grassroots campaign today?
While Abdul will focus on protecting human rights, he’s running against one of the nation’s top recipients of AIPAC donations. So he’s up against obscene amounts of money from AIPAC and corporate PACs that are trying to buy another seat in Congress.
Abdul is also the only candidate in the race who’s fighting for Medicare for All. He won't waver on access to health care for all. Like me, Abdul is also focused on ending medical debt. No one should be punished for getting sick.
As a two-time public health official, he created programs that eliminated $700 million in medical debt for 300,000 people, removed lead from Detroit’s elementary schools, secured free glasses for tens of thousands of kids, and made life-saving Narcan universally accessible. Tonight, I joined his town hall to talk about navigating and fixing our broken healthcare system.
Together in Congress, we’ll fight for the bold changes that families need in order to thrive.
Please join me in helping Abdul El-Sayed overcome AIPAC spending to become the first Muslim and first Arab American U.S. Senator—by splitting a $10 donation between our campaigns today.

Back in 2018, Abdul and I were arrested while protesting with fast food workers to raise the minimum wage and strengthen the right to form unions. Abdul is running because it shouldn’t be this hard in the richest country on Earth to afford groceries, see a doctor, or believe our kids will have it better than us.
Abdul and I also share a history of holding corporate polluters accountable and cleaning up our air and water. Here’s us together at a 2023 panel about environmental justice:
Born and raised in Michigan, Abdul will be the first Muslim and the first Arab American in the U.S. Senate if he wins.
With all the racist, Islamophobic attacks from Democrats and Republicans against Zohran Mamdani, it’s clear we need more Muslims in federal office to represent all Americans—and show that we belong here, including in the halls of power.
As we saw with Zohran’s win this week, we can overcome billionaire interference in our democracy if we join together and demand transformative change.
Let’s help elect a deeply progressive Arab American and Muslim U.S. Senator. Abdul El-Sayed and I will never take money from corporate PACs, so every grassroots donation counts >>
Thank you so much. In endorsing Abdul, I’m joining U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders, who will fight alongside Abdul in the Senate for Medicare for All and an arms embargo on Israel.
Our fight is only beginning, and there’s so much progress ahead. With you in the fight for better,
Rashida
