TTP Sunday Newsletter
If you're having trouble viewing this email, you can see it online.

"Norm!!!"

Most of you probably know exactly where that comes from...

Happy Sunday, True Texans!  When you arrive at a True Texas Project meeting, this is my hope for you... that you would be greeted like Norm!  Everywhere I go around the state to visit our meetings, this is what I see.  If you're not getting that kind of greeting, stick around and let folks get to know you. Our people are great at loving on each other.  Or if you've been around awhile, maybe you want to step up and become a greeter to make sure everyone else gets that warm welcome!  The words of the Cheers theme song are more true now than ever before, and they are very applicable to True Texas gatherings...

Making your way in the world today takes everything you've got Taking a break from all your worries sure would help a lot Wouldn't you like to get away?
Sometimes you wanna go Where everybody knows your name And they're always glad you came You wanna be where you can see our troubles are all the same You wanna be where everybody knows your name
November meetings start up this coming week -- our last meetings of the year!  When you arrive, if you hear someone yell, "Norm!" just smile and wave.  :-)

The truth is... you don't have to go to TTP meetings to learn anything.  You can look up anything you want to know online!  But nothing replaces human interactions, hugs, support, and iron sharpening iron.

Holiday Parties!
A GREAT opportunity to hang out with True Texans is at our 5th annual Dueling Pianos Christmas Party... and we just made it easier by adding a link to discounted hotel rooms.  If you're traveling to the Christmas Capital of Texas for our event, get a room for just $99.  Get your tickets (and hotel info) here. And make sure to check our website for other Thanksgiving and Christmas parties near you.  There are a bunch, including the annual party hosted by my family.

Many years ago I started inviting over friends for dinner the night before Thanksgiving.  I had so many that were single -- young and older -- and I hated the idea that they were alone.  So we opened up our home... until it got too crowded! Now we've made it an annual TTP tradition in a rented venue, and Tim Georgeff joins us to lead us in hymns. It's a wonderful evening with our TTP family, and you're welcome to join us at this dinner or at one nearer to you. Again, all the parties are listed on our calendar linked in the above paragraph.

Reminder:  essays for our scholarship essay contest are due in 3 weeks!  Any Texas high school student can enter, and most entries get free tickets for your family to our Christmas party. In other words, win or lose, you still win!  Details on the scholarship are here.

Certified True Texan Youth Training
Believe it or not, students have fun learning about the Constitution, activism, economics and campaigns/elections when they attend our youth training.  In one morning, we cover all of that and build on the firm foundation you've already begun.  This is the last youth training we'll be doing for a long while.  Get the youth to Leander - it will be worth the drive!  Parents & siblings welcome too.  RSVP here for Nov 22.  (Psst... it's free, and so is the tshirt!)

Speaking of teens, we've been asked to spread the word about the National High School Conservatives convention happening in Houston in March.

Interviews... Round 2
Our Board has interviewed 71 candidates so far for the March Primary, but we aren't done yet! Fran snapped a pic of the stack of questionnaires we've accumulated...

Whoa!

The second and final round of interviews will happen on Tuesday, Dec 9.  Please tell the candidates you know!  If they are running in Tarrant County, or if they are running for an office larger than county-wide (including state rep/sen, many judges, and statewide races), they need to interview with us.  If they are running for a race county-wide or smaller, they will interview with their local satellite leadership teams.  They can email [email protected] for details.

Can you help?
We are trying to add 40 new monthly donors before the end of the year.  You'd think with the 1000s of Texans who utilize our voting recommendations, training opportunities, speakers, meetings, and social events, it wouldn't be hard to find 40 people willing to chip in $35/month.  (That's the average, but we'll take anything!).  Well...  think again! Fran and I are constantly having to beat the bushes, and it distracts from the real work of saving Texas that we are meant to do.  Come on, already!  What about you?

Remember... everyone who sets up a recurring donation of at least $25/month gets a free t-shirt!

Coming in 2026...

Year of the Patriot Conference - Houston and DFW.  It's an election year, plus America's 250th birthday, plus it's just great to be a Texan, so there's lots to celebrate during our Year of the Patriot conferences.  We'll have our first one on Jan 24 in Houston, and then in late summer we'll have another one in the DFW area.  Both will be unique though, so you'll want to attend each time!  Get it on your radar. More details soon.

Monthly TTP podcasts

We just released part 3 in our Candidate Interview series.  This time we interviewed 3 candidates for Texas Attorney General.
TTP%40Home-Thumbnail(2).jpg
I gotta tell ya... I'm still undecided.  In fact, I watched the podcast a couple times hoping for clarification, but I'm still stumped!  After each candidate, I think to myself, "Ooo... I really like him," but I can't pick all three.  The bottom line is that all 3 are great options.  Our job is to decide who is the BEST option.  What do you think???
