Hey there – Andy Beshear here, Governor of Kentucky and Vice Chair of the Democratic Governors Association. I know you probably received a ton of emails leading up to Election Day, so I’ll keep this quick.

We just elected two new Democratic governors, Abigail Spanberger and Mikie Sherrill! I’m proud to congratulate them today. As Donald Trump leads with nothing but cruelty, we deserve leadership that sees all Americans as equal and worthy of respect – and Abigail and Mikie will bring these values to Virginia and New Jersey.

This week's victories are also a loud and clear rejection of Donald Trump’s chaos, and a warning sign to Republicans in 2026.

As we celebrate, we’re also looking forward to our 36 races next year. 80% of Americans will cast their vote for governor.

With so much on the line, we need to hit the ground running right now – so I’m reaching out personally because I want to make sure your thoughts are heard.

As a second-term governor, Andy Beshear has a long record of accomplishments. He restored voting rights to nearly 200,000 Kentuckians, secured low-cost health care for tens of thousands, had the three best economic development years on record, and had the lowest unemployment rate in state history. He won his first election by just 5,136 votes and his second by 5 percentage points because Kentuckians and folks across the country know that he will work every day to make Americans’ lives better – from jobs to infrastructure, health care, public education, and so much more.

Now he’s serving as DGA Vice Chair to continue the fight for progress by electing Democratic governors across the country.
