John, it’s Mallory McMorrow

In 2018, I put my name on a ballot to challenge my State Senator, the Republican incumbent who had won his last race by 16 points.

When I told some of my local Democratic party leadership that I wanted to challenge him, they said, “Oh honey, that’s cute. You don’t have a chance.”

But when all the votes were counted on election night, I beat that guy by 4 points.

Here’s the lesson:

If anyone ever tells you an area is too red, or not worth fighting for: That’s bullshit.

We can organize anywhere.

We can flip red seats.

We can even flip entire chambers.

It won’t be easy, but I am more than willing to put in the hard work. Are you with me?
