Statement From The YDNC Black Caucus Chair and Vice Chair
Hello Young Dems!

I am Tia Canada, the current chairwoman of the YDNC Black Caucus. It is with great pleasure that let you all know the caucus is up and running for the cycle and we have some exciting programming planned for you all and the organization. The goal of the caucus is to create a collaborative space for Black and African American members, and our allies, to engage in conversations and programming to discuss issues that affect us and our communities. This is done through independent and collaborative programming that includes, but is not limited to, workshops, career development, town halls, etc. Our goal is to make this space as collaborative and representative as possible. We hope to see you at some of our programs!

Speaking of programming, our next one will be "Lounge and Vent" with special guest Rep. Zach Hawkins on Friday, July 17th at 7 p.m. This event will take a more personal look at our elected officials, and their perspective and contributions to the Black community and North Carolina politics. This event will be streaming live on Facebook and YouTube. We hope you turn in!

For continued updates, please like the YDNC Black Caucus page on Facebook. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out to myself at [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]) .

In solidarity,
Tia Canada, Chairwoman
Kelvin Stallings, Vice Chairman
