We just wrapped up week 5 of the government shutdown, and the human cost is growing. Millions of families are going hungry because those who were sworn to serve walked out. SNAP benefits are frozen, grocery bills are rising, and children are asking questions no parent should have to answer.

SNAP isn’t a luxury. It’s a lifeline. When those who were sworn to serve stop working, families stop eating. And let’s be clear: nobody wins when the family feuds.

While extremists play politics, I’m focused on feeding solutions—fighting to reopen the government, restore funding for families, and protect those who make this country run.

Together, we can end this shutdown and make sure every family has a seat and a plate at the table.
