Jeb Bush and Virginia Walden Ford Will Judge “With Justice for All” Video Contest

$45,000 contest asks students to sound off about their recent educational experience.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Center for Education Reform (CER) today announced the appointment of two distinguished public leaders to its celebrity panel of judges for the “With Justice for All” video contest [[link removed]].

The newest judges are Jeb Bush [[link removed]], a two-term governor of Florida and the president of the Foundation for Excellence in Education [[link removed]], and Virginia Walden Ford [[link removed]], the original Miss Virginia on whose life story the feature film is based.

“We’re thrilled to be joined by two of America’s leading lights for education opportunity and innovation,” said Jeanne Allen [[link removed]], CER’s founder and chief executive. “Jeb and Virginia will bring their keen and respected eyes to our mission of giving voice to America’s students.”

“It’s time to plan for a future in which public education can continue without access to classrooms — not just because of a pandemic but because that’s the future of learning,” said Governor Bush. “Education should be the one policy area where leaders of both parties can find common purpose in the mission of transforming our education system, an imperative for the long-term security and success of America.”

“Schools are charged with delivering both excellence and equity,” added Ms. Walden Ford. “During this extraordinary crisis, it’s important to check-in with students — especially underprivileged ones — and get their take on that mission firsthand.”

CER will announce additional judges in the coming weeks.

“With Justice for All” asks students to answer the following question in a video: “Has your school delivered on the promise of equal access and educational excellence, particularly during these challenging times? Tell us how well your school did — or didn’t do — in providing you a great education.” The contest is sponsored by the Center for Education Reform [[link removed]], in partnership with the Freedom Coalition for Charter Schools [[link removed]], the Children’s Scholarship Fund [[link removed]], and the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools [[link removed]].

To submit a video, students should visit MyEducationVideo.com [[link removed]] by 11:59 PM EDT on July 24, 2020.

Awards include 10 $2,500 scholarships — and one $20,000 scholarship — to the high school or college of a student’s choice.
