Friend,

In solidarity with #StopHateforProfit, Evergreen Action has joined more than 1,000 companies and organizations and pulled all of our ads from Facebook this month.

Why? Facebook's transgressions are too numerous to name. But here are a few that stand out:

It has elevated Breitbart News as a "trusted news source" and designated The Daily Caller as a "fact checker" -- despite both having deep ties to white supremacists.

It has stood by and allowed disinformation about elections to be targeted at Black people, helping to suppress their votes.

It's allowed climate denial to thrive by creating a loophole through which climate content can be marked as "opinion."

The climate crisis is, in almost every way, a racial justice crisis. If we are going to make meaningful progress on either -- and pass legislation that realizes a more just, more prosperous clean energy future -- facts have to matter. We must hold powerful corporations responsible when they fail to uphold the truth and cash in on hate.

Almost all of Facebook's profits ($70 billion last year!) come from advertisers. By joining the movement to pull Facebook ads this month, we're sending a message that we've had enough.

Send a message with us: Join us to demand decisive action by Facebook to stop the spread of climate denial and hate.

Facebook is one of the best tools organizations like Evergreen have to grow an online community and advertise in a way that's cost effective. But as people who care deeply about racial justice and climate justice, we cannot stand by while executives knowingly allow Facebook to serve as a breeding ground for bigotry, hate speech, and disinformation.

Add your name and help us hold Facebook accountable today.

Facebook won't change its ways unless it sees a change to its bottom line. And this month, it will.

Thank you for being a part of this movement.

Thanks,

Jamal Raad
