Dear Sister District DC/VA Volunteers,
We're hosting a fundraiser for our recently announced second candidate in Pennsylvania, Deb Ciamacca! It will take place on Zoom on Tuesday, July 21st, at 5 p.m.
Like Jonathan Kassa, Deb is also running for a seat in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives this November. Her election will help achieve one of Sister District’s principal goals for 2020: flip Pennsylvania blue.
Deb will speak and take questions during this Zoom event.
Why do we care about Deb’s race? Because we need to win only nine more seats to flip the Pennsylvania House! A Democratic flip this year will block GOP gerrymandering in the state for at least ten years.
Deb Ciamacca (bio here) is a Marine vet and social studies teacher. After leaving the Marines Deb worked in the private sector, ending up at Neutronics, a family owned environmental and instrumentation company in Exton, PA. Then she became a social studies teacher and has taught government, economics, and world cultures to thousands of students. She lives in Media, PA with her husband Rich, a Navy submarine veteran.
DONATIONS
We know that times are hard, but we hope you’ll agree that supporting Democrats is an investment in our nation’s future. We’re aiming to raise $5,000 for Deb, and we’ve got dollar-for-dollar matches for the first $2,300 we raise—so if you donate soon, your donation will be doubled. And one donor will contribute 5% of the total to a local charity of Deb’s choice, the Media Fellowship House.
Races for the Pennsylvania House of Representatives typically run to six figures. Early money is important because it lets candidates staff up and rent office space.
You can donate here (even if you can't attend!) and we hope to see you there! We're asking for $25 donation to attend the event.
Don't forget we also have our weekly phone bank this Wednesday at 6:30!
Stay safe and be well.
