The Chamber's monthly Small Business Roundtable offers an important educational opportunity to smaller businesses. The roundtable is free to members but space is limited and registration is requested. The topic of discussion changes monthly, allowing attendees to learn how to enhance their business and increase their success in a different way each month! This event is free for members. REGISTER Recent Advocacy: Support for Regional Tourism On July 8, the Chamber wrote a letter in support of a joint application by the Arlington Convention and Visitors Service and the other destination marketing organizations across Northern Virginia for a grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce. The regional groups are working to counteract the sharp impact that COVID-19 has had on Northern Virginia’s hospitality industry. The grant will fund a program combining travel and tourism marketing with hotel employee training that provides hospitality workers with a certification in the new, post-COVID-19 health, safety, and sanitation protocols. READ THE LETTER Good News Spotlight On July 2, The AES Corporation provided relief to hundreds of families who have been facing economic struggles due to the pandemic. AES Fund at the Arlington Community Foundation provided a $25,000 grant to support low-income families with grocery gift cards. This is the first grant out of a $75,000 total commitment. “Improving lives is at the core of our mission, and we take pride in serving the communities where we operate,” said Andrés Gluski, AES President and CEO.
