Public Notice
City of Fort Worth Water Main Repair
The City of Fort Worth has been in communication with our Public Works team to coordinate the repair of a large water main that supplies customers south of Hwy 183 with water. *The repair is scheduled to begin Sunday, November 9, at 8 p.m. and is estimated to last 36 hours.* Our team is preparing all of our elevated storage tanks to be filled to full capacity by the time the repair begins in an effort to prevent customers from experiencing a change to their water. Customers are accustomed to consuming primarily surface water supplied by the City of Fort Worth. During periods of the year when consumption is higher, we mix groundwater from our wells with surface water to help meet the increased demand. Surface water comes from sources you can see on the surface, like lakes, rivers, and reservoirs. Cities collect and treat this water before sending it to homes and businesses. Groundwater comes from underground and is stored in natural layers of rock and soil called aquifers. Cities pump it up through wells, then treat it for safe use. Our goal during this repair is for customers to receive a mix of surface water and groundwater, so they won’t experience as much of a difference in the water. If all of our prepared water is consumed during this period of repair, then we will need to switch to providing customers with 100% groundwater. If we need to make this switch due to the repair taking longer than expected or if all the prepared water is consumed, customers will notice a change in the look, taste, and smell of the water, resulting from the mineral content in the groundwater. *We want to assure you that if you notice any changes during this time period, the water remains safe to use and consume, and continues to meet all quality standards.*
We anticipate having enough mixed water to use based on typical consumption trends during this time of year. In an extra effort to prevent unnecessary water usage, the City will suspend watering our parks and landscaping at City facilities during this time. We also encourage our customers to be mindful of their usage to help us prevent the need to switch to 100% groundwater. Ensure that sprinkler systems are turned off and do not operate automatically during this time period (Sunday evening through Tuesday morning). This precautionary measure is to prevent customers from experiencing a change to their water, and there will be no impact on the safety of the water even if there is a need to rely solely on groundwater.
*If you have questions or concerns, please contact our 24/7 Public Works dispatch at 817-788-7212.* We will provide updates through our communication channels as needed. We appreciate your patience as we work with the City of Fort Worth to complete this necessary repair.

Cease the Grease
Cease the Grease Drop-off
This holiday season, we’re making it easier than ever to Cease the Grease! The City of Hurst encourages residents to collect and recycle or safely dispose of all used fats, oils, and grease. When these items are washed down the drain, it sticks inside pipes. This hardening eventually leads to build-up that clogs and damages the sanitary sewer system. This can lead to a sanitary sewer overflow, where raw sewage backs up into your home, lawn, neighborhood, and streets. Not only does this cause health issues, it can also runoff into a nearby creek or stream, affecting our drinking water. *In an effort to help our residents and our city, during the holiday time you can recycle your grease for FREE at our drop-off location, located at the north end of the Service Center (2001 Precinct Line Road) parking lot at the corner of Cannon Drive and Precinct Line Road from November 3, 2025 to January 30, 2026.*

Aces & Education
Aces & Education
This October, the Hurst Tennis & Pickleball Center hosted the fall Aces & Education program, welcoming around 40 young participants throughout the session. Thanks to support from Northeast Tarrant Tennis & Pickleball (NETT), a well-known Community Tennis Association, several students received scholarships that will allow them to continue their tennis education and development. We’re proud to see this program thriving at our facility, providing new opportunities for local youth and helping families experience the benefits of tennis and the City of Hurst’s recreation amenities.
