Hey, it’s Mikie Sherrill – as of Tuesday, the Governor-elect of the great state of New Jersey!

I’m honored that New Jerseyans believed in our vision for our state's future – a vision that puts hardworking families first.

This was a hard-fought and hard-won election, and I’m not taking anything for granted. Here’s my promise to you: I’m not going to back down because the challenges ahead look difficult – and I know you won’t either.

We campaigned day-and-night, and it paid off. It’s been 60 years since Democrats have won three consecutive races for governor here in New Jersey. And Tuesday night, over three million voters turned out to cast their ballots, helping us win by the biggest Dem margin in 24 years – a testament to the work of this grassroots team.

I’m grateful for your faith in me, and look forward to serving alongside nine other women governors – including my friend and former roommate Governor-elect Abigail Spanberger! – and 23 Democratic governors. These are the leaders who are moving our nation forward and standing strong against Donald Trump’s dangerous, divisive extremism.

That work doesn’t stop here. I’m going to keep fighting for working families and to lower costs each and every day. Right now, who your governor is matters more than ever – and there are 36 governors’ races now less than a year away.
