I know my team and I had been reaching out a little more often than usual over the last few months. So first and foremost, I wanted to say thank you for bearing with us. For weeks, everything was pointing to today becoming the official kickoff of the Kansas GOP’s special session on redistricting. But after we rolled up our sleeves, put in the work, and kept up the pressure, Kansas Republicans dropped that idea — for now — just a few short days ago. So here’s where we are: It’s been a good week for everyone here at Campaign HQ. Just hours after Democrats handily won elections in Virginia, New Jersey, Georgia, and all across the country, Kansas GOP leadership finally took the hint. Maybe, just maybe, Kansas voters weren’t too excited to spend nearly half a million dollars in taxpayer money on a political power grab, all while families are struggling during the National GOP’s government shutdown. Who would’ve thought? But this doesn’t mean everything is sunshine and rainbows here in Kansas. Families are still hurting. Kids are still going hungry. And the Kansas GOP hasn’t dropped their gerrymander for good. Instead, they’ve announced a new plan: Regroup in January. So yes, every member of this team deserves a moment of celebration. We achieved a real victory here in KS-03, and all across the country this week. But our work isn’t done. National Republicans and Kansas GOP leadership alike saw what happened too — and we all know they won’t just pack up and walk away. So if you’re still with me, I’d appreciate any help you can provide ahead of the latest bout in this long, costly battle for Kansas’ future. We can’t win this without you. Here’s the best link to give: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/davids-email-nov25 Regardless of whether you’re able to chip in right now, I’m extremely grateful to have your support at this uncertain moment for our campaign. Thanks, and have a great weekend. Sharice Sent from my iPhone |
