Irving, TX – The Democrats have continued to hold our government hostage, forcing us into the longest government shutdown in U.S. history. The Democrats continue to say that keeping the government shutdown gives them “leverage”. When will they stop playing games with the American people?

The contrast could not be more clear, President Trump and Republicans are delivering historic trade and peace deals, building on the success of the working families tax cuts, while Democrats hold our government hostage for a $1.5 trillion wish list of radical demands.

Every week of the shutdown I have reiterated that I remain committed to working on finding a path forward. Our offices in Addison and Washington, D.C. have and will continue to remain open and available to help you or answer any questions you may have.

Despite concerns from almost every corner of the airline industry, Democrats continue to force TSA Agents and Air Traffic Controllers to work without pay.

On Monday, I stopped by DFW to drop off breakfast for the hardworking Air Traffic Controllers who are continuing to work to ensure the safety of everyone flying in and out of the Dallas area.

DFW is in the heart of Texas-24 and is one of the 40 airports that is experiencing a reduction in flights directly related to the Democrat Shutdown. The 10% reduction in capacity of flights will result in more delays and cancellations because of crews being stranded or timing out.

Earlier this week I attended the annual Council for Life Luncheon in Dallas, where thousands came together to honor the mission of empowering women, men and youth to make life-affirming choices.

I stopped by the North Texas Food Bank, which serves 12 counties across North Texas. While they’ve been experiencing long lines at their food pantries and a higher demand due to the government shutdown, we are also seeing the absolute best of our North Texas community stepping up to help.

During our visit, we witnessed deliveries of donated food arriving from those in the community who are able to give back and want to support their neighbors.

On Tuesday, I had the opportunity to tour Authentix in Addison and meet with their leadership team and employees. Authentix is a global leader in authentication technology, I was able to learn more about their business lines, including their business with the US and foreign governments.

This week is National Veterans Small Business Week, we encourage everyone to support the businesses owned by the men and women who have served our nation.

Unfortunately, due to the Democrat Shutdown, the Small Business Administration was forced to cancel National Veterans Small Business Week events and hasn’t been able to honor these veteran entrepreneurs and job creators like they deserve.

Eighth graders from my alma mater, Greenhill School, were visiting Washington D.C. this week! These bright students came prepared with thoughtful questions about legislation that I’ve introduced, the government shutdown, how I am working to serve the people of North Texas, and even how my time at Greenhill prepared me to serve as an elected official.

Later in the day, I met with the Farm Credit Bank of Texas. It was great to hear from local leaders in the Texas agriculture economy.

Yesterday, I joined some of my House Republican colleagues and highlighted the continued harmful impacts of the longest government shutdown that the Senate Democrats have inflicted on the American people.

It is far past time for Washington Democrats to reopen the government and stop holding the American people hostage.

The Texas House of Representatives declared today, November 7, 2025, as Ava Moore Day. Today, we celebrate Ava’s shining legacy and her commitment to serving our country.

Earlier this year Ava’s life was tragically cut short in an accident. Our office had the honor of nominating Ava to the U.S. Air Force Academy where she was supposed to attend this fall. May her legacy live on through her teammates at Timber Creek High School, our North Texas community, and her family.

Texas-24 Work of the Week

This week, I introduced the END Act with Senator Cornyn, Congresswoman Debbie Dingell, and Senator Heinrich. This bipartisan and bicameral legislation strengthens enforcement tools to block illicit vape and tobacco imports, protecting Americans from counterfeit products.

Texas-24 Hometown Hero

This week’s Texas-24 Hometown Hero is Keller’s own World Series Champion, Max Muncy.

Max graduated from Keller High School before heading to Baylor University to play college baseball. After being released by the Athletics, the Los Angeles Dodgers gave him a second chance, where he’s now a three-time World Series Champion.
