Juliana has spent her career fighting for the people of Illinois — first as the chair of a local school council advocating for children and families, then, as a state representative championing education and equity. Today, as lieutenant governor, she's standing up to Republicans as the Trump administration continues to target Chicago.
As the first Black woman to serve as lieutenant governor of Illinois, Juliana has broken barriers and opened doors. But she's never forgotten where she came from or who she's fighting for, and she has the courage and vision to deliver real results in the Senate.
Our endorsement signals our determination to elect another Democratic pro-choice woman to the Senate and delivers a major show of strength for Juliana.
But she's running in a competitive, high-stakes Democratic primary in March, and she needs the full support of our community to win.
