More than 1,000 flights were canceled this morning after the Trump administration ordered airlines to reduce operations amid staffing shortages caused by the record-long government shutdown.
Air traffic controllers and aviation safety workers have now gone weeks without pay. Some can’t afford gas to get to work. Others are calling out sick. Morale is collapsing.
And now, as the Thanksgiving travel season approaches, the Trump administration’s recklessness is putting millions of Americans’ safety and livelihoods at risk. It’s time to end this shutdown and restore sanity to our democracy.
